Randall Wallace wrote, produced, and directed the 1998 American action drama movie The Man in the Iron Mask. The film's cast includes Gabriel Byrne as D'Artagnan, Jeremy Irons as Aramis, John Malkovich as Athos, Gérard Depardieu as Porthos, and Leonardo DiCaprio in a dual role as the title character and the antagonist. Some characters are from Alexandre Dumas's D'Artagnan Romances, and parts of the story are very loosely based on The Vicomte de Bragelonne, which he wrote between 1847 and 1850.
